Military
- Spoiler:
- Every Country, even peaceful ones such as Contidianus have a military open to all new recruits. There are several titles within this that can be achieved or joined:
Soldier:- Spoiler:
- A soldier often works and travels with the army of their Country and fights in any wars that may arise. They are often regarded with respect, for citizens are well aware that a Soldier can die on any given day of their job. In times of peace, they often take part in other tasks if not remaining with their army.
Messenger:- Spoiler:
- Messengers don't take part in the fighting itself, but rather are used to relay messages between Generals and Strategists, or even opposing armies themselves. They wear a special band to identify themselves, and it's deemed a sin to kill one in battle without provocation, no matter what side they're on. There is the phrase "don't shoot the messenger," after all. They're a vital part in any negotiations between groups or armies.
General:- Spoiler:
- Generals take charge in the armies and lead soldiers into battle. They are more experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to war, and they use this in order to be a key part in any battle. They hold command over a group of a certain group of Soldiers, and act as that group's commanding leader. Because of their roles of leader and strict ties to Strategists, they're usually revered in their Countries as heroes. In order to have a General, you must have a character History thoroughly explaining how they obtained their position. This means that you will have to do more than the minimum requirement, and the staff holds a right to deny the position if they deem it not plausible or not better explained. Remember that the position can also be obtained through RP later on.
Strategist:- Spoiler:
- Strategists carry a heavy weight in battle, and though they don't join the fray themselves, they decide how the army will go about their attack. Will they break into groups and hit the enemy from multiple sides, or will they clash as one whole and crush the opposing army through sheer force alone? This is for the Strategist to decide, often under pressure and with a snap decision. They keep close connections with a General, and act as a guide and decision-maker for the particular group under that General's command. Some also act as advisers toward high ranking royalty, and even rulers themselves. In order to have a Strategist, you must have a character History thoroughly explaining how they obtained their position. This means that you will have to do more than the minimum requirement, and the staff holds a right to deny the position if they deem it not plausible or not better explained. Remember that the position can also be obtained through RP later on.
Mercenary:- Spoiler:
- Mercenaries are soldiers not under any army or Country's control. Instead, they're for-hire soldiers that will work with an army in order to make money. Often seen as unlawful, they're a risky thing to deal with, as they only take orders from themselves and whoever will pay the highest price.
Guardsman:- Spoiler:
- Unlike soldiers, guardsmen are tasked to specific towns or places and act as sentries keeping their assigned area safe. They patrol at night or act as escorts to prominent figures, but fight just as hard as their fellow soldiers. Though often under-looked as the less risky choice of the two most common military careers, they still take pride in the service they do every day for the Country.
Peacekeepers
- Spoiler:
- Peacekeepers are tasked with maintaining their Country and upholding the law. Those in these fields are often feared and loathed by others that don't understand what their jobs entitle, but they keep their heads high knowing they're doing their Country good.
Police:- Spoiler:
- The Police Force often works within one town or city to keep citizens and lawbreakers in check. Under the direct jurisdiction and rule of their monarch, they cannot stray from the law set forth by their ruler. They maintain order and stop any act of rule-breaking when it happens, and follow up on complaints made by civilians against other possible evildoers. They aren't the most loved Pokemon, but they keep the streets safe. Without them, the world would be a dire place.
Bounty Hunter:- Spoiler:
- Unlike the Police Force, Bounty Hunters work under their own individual jurisdiction. They hunt down criminals and keep an eye on any wanted poster that starts to float around, especially those with a hefty reward attached. Most Bounty Hunters are in the job for the money, but others are in it for the justice against evil. They have more freedom than a police officer, as they don't act solely under one town but rather against one or more individual, but they have a less variable and more dangerous path than the Force.
Jailer:- Spoiler:
- Jailers act as wardens and keepers of criminals brought in by Bounty Hunters and Police. They guard the jails and dungeons, and control everything that comes in and out of them. Unfortunately, this line of work is often overwhelmed in corruption, and bribery is common to let a prisoner slip out "unnoticed" by the jailer.
Unlawful Arts
- Spoiler:
- The unlawful are the common enemies of both the military and the peacekeepers. They disobey the laws of their kingdoms in return for a life of crime. There are different branches of such Pokemon, and some are listed here below.
Thief:- Spoiler:
- Thieves are common among crowded and more popular cities, but they are far-spread in the world. They have differing specialties and scopes, and often focus on one particular medium of theft, such as money or art. Most are well knowledgeable in the art of pick-pocketing and lock picking. They take a thrill in stealing and either do it to survive, make money, or further themselves in some way. They're often harmless, and would rather flee than fight if confronted by any figure of the law.
Rogue:- Spoiler:
- Rogues, unlike Thieves, are often seen as violent and much more dangerous. Instead of simple pick-pocketing and stealing on the sly, they use violence in order to rob others, and often take hostages in order to make a ransom. They're a common sight on wanted posters, and if not careful, usually have a number of Police and Bounty Hunters on their tail. Well, if they have a tail.
Assassin:- Spoiler:
- Assassins are very feared and very deadly. They're often hired out by those in great power to dispose of others not deemed "acceptable" to the Assassin's employer. Much like Mercenaries, they often work under their own word and that word alone, but some could work for specific Pokemon, such as less... sympathetic rulers. They have a cursed and bloody career path, and most are either devout of emotion, guilt-filled wrecks, or some other extreme. Almost none are normal. They, too, are pursued by the law and often appear on wanted posters. Though, most are careful not to be seen as the other lesser criminals are, so they usually remain unknown and in the shadows, as everyone who sees one of their faces doesn't usually live to tell the tale. In order to have an Assassin, you must have a character History thoroughly explaining how they obtained their position. This means that you will have to do more than the minimum requirement, and the staff holds a right to deny the position if they deem it not plausible or not better explained. Remember that the position can also be obtained through RP later on.
